Meguiar's Softbuff Foam Pad w7006If you're a car polishing fool, like me, you have a ready supply of foam polishing pads for your dual-action car polisher. At an average of $10 to $12 each, the cost can really add up.

When I found Amazon blowing out Meguiar's original Softbuff 6" foam pads for as low as $7.35 each (list price $12.99 to $14.99), I knew I had to scoop up a few. Granted, they are last years product, but still excellent. I picked up two of each color for only $54.22, and the shipping was FREE!!!

In case you're not familiar with the history of the foam pad, it was Meguiar's that first brought the idea to market 30 years ago. They have more experience than anyone in this market. Although their new Softbuff 2.0 pads have a new size and a new design, the foam is unchanged.

For my own use, I find the original Meguiar's Softbuff 6" pad to be the perfect size for use with dual-action polishers, like the Meguiar's G110v2 Professional Dual Action Polisher. In my opinion, the larger 7" Softbuff 2.0 pads do not work as well on dual-action polishers because the energy of the polisher is being distributed over too large an area.

The Meguiar's 6" Softbuff foam pads are available in three grades:

The Meguiar's W7006 pad uses a Swistex v90 foam that is exclusive to Meguiar's and considered by many to be the best cutting foam available.  It does an amazing job removing tough swirl marks and surface scratches, even with a dual-action polisher, yet it's not overly aggressive.

I have no idea how long this deal will last, so stock up while you can.
